The unit arrives assembled. Place it on a flat, stable indoor surface with clear space on all sides — ladder barrel work involves extending over the barrel and reaching through a full range, so you need more room around it than its footprint suggests.
Set the sliding barrel to your body length before each session and confirm it is locked in position before loading weight onto it. Re-check the adjustment hardware periodically — the track takes repeated load and a loose fitting matters here.
Care: Wipe the PU leather with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap after each session, then dry thoroughly. Clean the wood with a dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth, avoiding excess water, abrasive cleaners, bleach and solvents. Inspect the frame, track, padding and hardware regularly and stop using the barrel if anything appears worn or damaged. Store and use indoors, away from damp, direct sunlight and heat.

What is a ladder barrel used for?
Spinal articulation, flexibility training and core strengthening. The barrel supports back extension and side bending through a fuller range than floor work allows, while the ladder gives you rungs for hamstring lengthening, shoulder mobility and supported stretching. It is one of the classical pieces of Pilates apparatus and it remains in studios because nothing else does quite the same job.
Why does the barrel slide?
The distance between the ladder and the barrel needs to match your body length and your current flexibility. Sliding the barrel along the track sets that distance, which means one unit suits different users and adapts as your flexibility improves. Confirm it is locked in position before loading weight onto it.

Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes, with the barrel set close. Ladder barrel work asks for controlled extension, so start with a shorter distance and build up as your flexibility improves. If you have a back condition or are recovering from injury, check with your physiotherapist or doctor before starting extension work.
What colours are available?
