Classic Pilates Spine Corrector

A spine corrector — also called a step barrel — is a curved piece of Pilates equipment with a steep seat and a gradual high arch. You lie back over the arch to move into supported spinal extension, which opens the chest and lengthens the spine further than floor work allows. It is used for stretching, mobility, posture and controlled core work, and it engages the core while stretching the back, shoulders, arms and legs.

Three sizes are available and all are the same price. The 95 × 45 × 34 cm has the longest arc and the tallest curve, so it offers the most extension. The 76 × 51 × 30 cm is the widest of the three on a shorter arc. The 74 × 43 × 30 cm is the most compact overall. Yes. The gradual, supportive arc is welcoming for beginners building confidence with extension work, and the integrated handles give you something solid to hold onto. It is equally rewarding for experienced practitioners refining their form. If you have a back condition or are recovering from injury, check with your physiotherapist or doctor before starting extension work.

It weighs 10.5 kg (23 lb), so one person can carry and reposition it easily — unlike our reformers and chairs, this is a piece you can genuinely move between rooms or tuck away between sessions. It supports a maximum user weight of 181 kg (400 lb).

The metal support handles are integrated into the frame rather than bolted on. They give you a stable grip during movement, which matters when you are extending backwards over an arch and want a fixed point to work against or to control your return.

Light assembly only — it arrives partially assembled. This is the simplest piece of equipment we sell to set up, and one person can manage it. Check that all fittings are secure and the handles are firmly seated before your first session.

A solid wood frame with high-density foam padding and wipe-clean vinyl upholstery. The foam is dense enough to support sustained extension without collapsing, and the vinyl cleans in seconds with a damp cloth.

Yes. You have 30 calendar days from delivery to request a return, including simply because you chose the wrong size. Eligible returns are free: we provide a prepaid return label or arrange carrier collection, with no restocking fee and no return-processing fee. It must be unused and returned in its original packaging — so please keep the box and protective foam until you’re satisfied with your order.
