More than most people expect. Seated, standing, kneeling and prone exercises all work on a chair, covering legs, arms, shoulders, back and core. The included elastic straps with handles extend that to upper-body pulling and pressing work. Because you work against spring resistance without a carriage supporting you, chair exercises demand more control than the reformer equivalents — which is exactly why studios keep them alongside reformers rather than instead of them.

The pedal can be used as a single unit or split so each side moves independently. Together, it gives you the classical symmetrical chair movement. Independently, it opens up single-leg and single-arm exercises, alternating patterns, and work that reveals and corrects side-to-side imbalances — which a fixed pedal cannot do.

Two adjustable resistance springs set how hard the pedal is to move. Lighter settings suit controlled, precise work and rehabilitation; heavier settings suit strength training. You can change the setting between exercises within a single session.

The chair is 84 × 68 cm (33.1 × 26.8 in) — a smaller footprint than most armchairs — with a seat height of 61 cm (24.0 in). Allow clear floor space around it for standing and stepping work. It needs nothing like the eight-foot floor run a reformer requires, which is what makes it realistic for a home.

Yes, with a caveat. The adjustable springs mean you can start light and build up, and the chair suits home practice well. But chair work asks more of your control than reformer work does, so if you are completely new to Pilates we would suggest learning the fundamentals with a qualified instructor before working unsupervised.

Yes. You have 30 calendar days from delivery to request a return, including simply because the chair doesn’t suit your space. Eligible returns are free: we provide a prepaid return label or arrange carrier collection, with no restocking fee and no return-processing fee. The chair must be unused, complete with its accessories, and returned in its original packaging — so please keep the box and protective foam until you’re satisfied with your order.
